Privacy Policy for Launderly

Launderly ("we", "our", "the app") is a laundry care-label scanner published by Pablo Elizalde. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Photos of care labels. When you scan a garment's care label, the photo is sent once to Google's Gemini API (via our backend) to identify the washing, drying, and ironing symbols on it. We do not store these photos on our servers. The photo and the resulting explanation are saved only in your device's local storage, as your personal scan history — this stays on your device and is not accessible to us or anyone else, and is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Anonymous device identifier. The app creates a random, anonymous identifier for your installation (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication) to enforce free-scan limits and recognize your subscription status. This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal account information — we don't require you to create an account or sign in.

Subscription information. If you subscribe to Launderly Pro, your purchase is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and processed by RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We never see or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) — our backend only receives whether your subscription is currently active.

Crash and diagnostic data. We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and basic technical information (device model, operating system version, app version) when something goes wrong, so we can fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity beyond the anonymous device identifier described above.

What We Don't Do

• We don't require account creation, sign-up, or any personal information (name, email, phone number) to use the app.
• We don't sell your information to anyone.
• We don't show advertising or share your data with advertising networks.
• We don't currently use any analytics SDK to track your behavior in the app.

Third Parties We Use

• Google (Firebase & Gemini API) — hosts our backend and processes label photos for analysis. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — manages subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — process subscription payments directly; we never see your payment details.

Your Choices

• Scan history: stored only on your device. You can delete it at any time from within the app, or remove it entirely by uninstalling the app.
• Camera access: you can revoke camera permission at any time in your device's Settings — the app simply won't be able to scan labels without it.

Children's Privacy

Launderly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
